The Field Support Manager is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, management and training of staff on Equipment Management software system and SOP’s. This position maintains data for KPI’s, generates equipment and expense reports, sets up parts rooms and provides training for maintenance personnel on SOP’s. This position is employed by an affiliated company of Patriot Rail.
  • Set up, organize, shops, parts rooms, label parts, parts bins, shelves and racks in accordance with industry standards.
  • Inventory all equipment, tools and parts, compare to Fixed Assets.
  • Ensures that the equipment data base is accurate and up to date, including warranty terms, MSDS data, part numbers, bar codes, applications, cross reference, descriptions, and VMRS codes.
  • Monitors parts usage trends to identify incorrect parts, inferior parts, and obsolete inventory.
  • Communicates directly with AVP Mechanical and suppliers regarding parts inventory needs.
  • Monitors/Sets standard repair times, and performs cost analysis to maximize productivity.
  • Performs 5S process in all shops to insure safety, standardization and functionality.
  • Completes as required weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual inspection on all safety related equipment, shop tools, lifting devices etc.
  • Enters equipment, warranty, productivity, employee and other data as needed into software system, spreadsheet or other tracking tools.
  • Helps implement, monitor and track SOP’s for maintenance process/reports such as PM, Asset Utilization, Productivity, Spend, Abuse, Warranty etc.
  • Prepares and reviews operational reports and project progress reports.
  • Provide training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
  • Generates reports as required by AVP Mechanical.
  • Mentor/Train employees in new processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managing equipment and 10 or more personnel.
  • Work experience with asset management, mentoring employees, warranties and warranty terms, inventory management and safety practices.
  • Work experience using computer applications to record, analyze, and report information.
  • Experience in projecting monthly spend on bi monthly basis.
  • Microsoft Office proficient, mid to high level excel capabilities.
  • Knowledge of implementing SOP’s, software systems and processes.
  • Vocational/technical education in equipment repair.
  • Work experience in heavy equipment, collection and support.
  • Verbal comprehension

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, write, talk, type and hear. Associate is occasionally required to sit, stoop, bend and/or kneel and lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. Associate is typically in an office environment but frequently travels and/or visits a railroad, facility, warehouse or outdoor environment.
  • Job will require travel time to other sites as needed.
